I wish I had a copy of this book in 2009 when I was an officer at the newly stood up US Cyber Command. We were required to brief the Director of Operations who was always a warfighter and most of the team came from the cyber defense side of the community, so they were very focused on stats and technical detail/jargon. We got many of them to understand some of the things conveyed in Dr. Marchewka’s book but it took much longer than the amount of time to read this book. Our effort was much less succint and had a lot of trial and error. There were some things, such as affect heuristic, that we didn't really have a word for at the time (and frankly we may not really have even conceived). I think the way Dr. Marchewka presented it in this book was really helpful. I am not in that work scenario now but I do see a corollary between his guidance for CISOs and training technical staff on marketing, which I am heavily involved with. I also see a direct corollary to briefing warfighter leadership within the Services and Dept of War. For me, the crossover between his writings and that scenario is very clear. I enjoyed the book and I thought the carrying through of the scenario across the whole book was quite effective. This book really helps make the lessons of how to talk technical capabilities much more practical and gets you in the mindset of other senior leaders. 5 stars!
